The Libraries for Peace Project is a California nonprofit organization dedicated to the creation and maintenance of libraries throughout Lebanon and other Middle Eastern Countries. Our particular focus is on young people who have suffered the trauma of armed conflict or poverty.

Our libraries will provide these young people with a peaceful and safe place for reading, research, and a space for classes. Our goal is to offer them a way out of illiteracy and to open opportunities for personal enrichment and productive employment, so that they may achieve their dreams of a better life.

It is through education that dignity and respect can be restored and peace be achieved.
